The El Perro del Mar CD is quickly shaping up to be a winter favorite. The string-and-backup-singer arrangements allude to a bygone era of music that I love without sounding old-timey; Sarah Assbring sings like she’s at the bottom of Lake Melancholy; and overall, the album makes me happy in a very mellow way.
