The last time I saw Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks (Jan 20, Crystal Ballroom), they blew my mind by dropping nine new songs back to back. The tracks were all long, rocking, and jam-y, reminding me in parts of Dungen. Everyone in the club was into the songs, which is always cool, since audiences (myself included) tend to favor songs they know to brand new material.

Then just today, I stumbled across You Ain’t No Picasson, who has the whole concert posted, both as a big zip file and also with all the new songs as individual mp3s. Enjoy the new songs my one of my all-time favorite muscians (and sorta neighbor), Stephen Malkmus.
